I’m afraid that I am here to break some terrible news to Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption fans, as developers Rockstar Games might have swindled an opportunity for them to play the remastered versions of two of the series’ most popular titles.
Last year, Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which included remastered variants of titles like GTA Vice City, GTA Liberty City and GTA San Andreas. While the release saw many attractors in the form of fans that gave it huge sales numbers, the reception towards the games’ improvements were mixed, with many fans and critics disappointed with Rockstar’s approach.
Even then, fans appreciated the effort, and they wanted more remasters for other titles of the series, and it seemed like Rockstar Games would deliver just that, as the American video game company had plans to do remaster Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption.
As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind.

Before Rockstar Games flew high with the success of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V, the company had released GTA IV and RDR 1, which garnered some critical and commercial success.
While the title never became more popular than the games that succeeded them, they did have a cult status, with many fans preferring some elements and mechanics from the older games of the series. And the community would have definitely accepted the remastered versions of these games with open arms. However, according to leaker Tez2, Rockstar never used the ideas and plans the company had for the re-release of GTA IV and RDR 1, following the mixed reception to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
With the future of the re-releases of these titles up in the air, fans are wondering whether Rockstar will ever pick up the ideas the developers had for the remasters, as players definitely want to play and experience the world of these two titles that have gained cult status over the last few years.
