Ubisoft has inadvertently leaked the release date for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope on the Ubisoft Store – we can assume ahead of confirmation in tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.
The Ubisoft Store page has also revealed plans for a Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Gold Edition which includes a season pass for upcoming downloadable content that includes “additional story content featuring new heroes, quests and battles,” and a Galactic Prestige Pack that unlocks “three exclusive and supremely stylish weapon skins for your team, unlockable right way.” There are also new screenshots that reveal Bowser as a new playable character.
In this sequel to the turn-based tactics RPG smash hit Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, you will once again have the chance to team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi and their friends as you set out on a galactic journey “to restore order as Cursa, a mysterious and malevolent entity, twists the planets with its evil influence.”
Cursa is inflicting chaos on the planets and their quirky inhabitants in an effort to consume all the energy of the Sparks, which are creatures formed by the fusion of Lumas and Rabbids.
Your adventure will see you explore incredible worlds and fight enemies in battles that mix turn-based tactics and real-time movements. Building your dream team of three heroes from an “eclectic” roster of nine, you will need to be strategic as you dash your enemies, team jump on your allies and hide behind cover.
There are dozens of Sparks scattered across the galaxy that you will need to rescue, which each have their own distinct power and personality – their special abilities being useful to your heroes to help gain the upper hand in combat.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 20th October 2022.
