Details on the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta are leaking early, ahead of an official announcement dropping tonight.
If you’re eagerly awaiting the launch of MW2, it might not be long before you can get your hands on it! As with all Call of Duty releases, the game will be getting an Open Beta and it’s releasing relatively soon.
But it seems that PlayStation’s exclusivity deal with Activision is still benefiting fans of Sony’s console. That will likely come to an end in the coming years, as Microsoft’s purchase of Activision puts Call of Duty in Xbox’s domain.

For the time being though, Modern Warfare 2 will be playable first on PS4 and PS5. And we’re going to be treated to the official MW2 Open beta ahead of the official Modern Warfare 2 release date.
Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Releasing Early on PS4 & PS5
It seems that once again, Activision is giving players on PlayStation consoles early access to its latest Call of Duty trial.
Finally, we have a brand-new reveal trailer for Modern Warfare 2 dropping hot, and it looks incredible. The game is shaping up to be a tremendous success for Call of Duty, and hype levels are through the roof.
But as good as the new trailer looks, the most exciting reveal comes right at the end. A final message at the end of the MW2 reveal teases that a new Open Beta is on the way.
And what’s more, it’ll be playable first on PS4 and PS5 consoles, at least 5 days before it comes to other platforms. Xbox and PC players will need to wait for their chance to jump into the latest title, at least this time.

Sadly, we don’t know exactly when Modern Warfare 2‘s Open Beta will release just yet. Most likely, we’ll get it in August or September 2022, but stay tuned for all the details as they arrive!
