Epic Games’ popular Battle Royale title Fortnite continues to break records when it comes to its ever-growing player base, as more players flock towards the game for its fun and visually enticing gameplay.
The title features a third person take on the genre, with players battling it out on a massive Island that continues to evolve through time with new POIs and challenges for the community to attempt. Moreover, they even have a chance to play as their favorite characters from different IPs owned by the likes of Marvel, DC, Star Wars and many more.
At the moment, the game heavily relies on players’ ability to build battle against other opponents. However, things have taken a slight shift towards a different direction, with Epic Games introducing a Zero Build mode.

Along with that, according to popular Fortnite leaker HYPEX, Epic Games is in the midst of developing a first-person camera view, which completely changes the dynamics of the title. HYPEX has mentioned that there isn’t any other information available at the moment, which suggests that the development is at the early stages.
It’s unclear how the gameplay will differ with such a drastic change. For starters, it’s very unlikely that the building aspect of the game will be seamless and quick like it is right now. Plus, there’s a case to be made that building bases might be easier said than done, as the speed might feel a bit disorienting for many. However, this might not be a problem if the first-person camera mode will be fixed for special events like Zero Build modes.
Other than that, the first-person view might take away the fun of playing with cosmetics, as players won’t be able to fully view their character at all times. It also takes away a defining trait of Fortnite, which separated itself from other first-person Battle Royale titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. Nevertheless, it seems like fans are fascinated by this new development, and it will be interesting to see how this tweak will affect the gameplay.
