Just over a month ago, we introduced you to BlockPlay, an upcoming play-to-earn and social metaverse project. BlockPlay defines itself as a community-first metaverse where every player will choose his role and be an active member of the metaverse. Let’s learn more about their latest updates, their genesis NFT mint coming up on May 31st and the upcoming BlockPlay Expo planned for the end of June!
There is no denying that times are tough for the crypto ecosystem at the moment. Given the situation and after listening to their community, the BlockPlay team decided to delay a bit their first NFT drop and to drop their MetaGen collection in different phases. Phase 1 will launch on May 31st, and allow users to mint 2,000 3D avatars out of the overall 5,555 that will be available.
The BlockPlay avatars, called Metacitizens) all have a unique style and a lot of attitude. This will allow players to have a real connection to them and build the metaverse story together. With each NFT minted comes a 3D-rigged avatar to begin creating.
The mint price will depend on your role. 500 OGs will mint at a discounted rate of 0.05 ETH and whitelisted members at 0.06 ETH. The public mint price will be 0.12 ETH.
To create even more interactivity the team created 3 RPG roles. You will be able to upgrade your #D avatar to any of these. The roles available are Tycoon, Influencer, and Creator. Each role will have different skills, abilities, and perks. When teaming up, players will be able to accomplish even more by combining their skills. The roles are designed to mimic real-life business relationships that we see today in the space.
There will be limited roles available and more of them will be periodically released with a maximum of 250 of each role.
The play and earn mechanics will incentivize BlockPlayers to explore, participate and have fun which will ultimately benefit every MetaCitizen, Roles, and the whole BlockPlay Metaverse. The BlockPlay token launch is slated for Q3 2022.
