Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had a blast in the box office, and now the movie is set to hit digital this week. Just in, IGN has dropped an extended clip from the film that has Sonic meeting Knuckles and Tails.

Just like the first movie, Sonic 2 actually had a lot of fun with its characters, and it looks like the film has been taking notes from how the first one did upon release. Though Jim Carrey is still fun and kooky as Robotnik, there seems to be less attention when it comes to the human characters—especially now that more of Sonic’s friends are showing up like Tails and Knuckles.
The film had ended with a teaser for Shadow the Hedgehog who was teased to have been experimented on for decades before Sonic arrived on Earth. We don’t know exactly where the story wants to go, but you can bet that fans have been happy to see the films reference all the video games, from the Chaos Emeralds to Super Sonic.
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hits digital on May 24.
