The time for the new season to take over has arrived in Destiny 2. Destiny 2 Season 17 is going to be the latest season in the game and it is scheduled to arrive on May 24, 2022. According to the information we have gathered, Destiny 2 Season 17 will be bringing a plethora of content and changes to the game. These changes include a new Dungeon, Raid Rotation changes, weapon changes and more.
Bungie has been pretty reserved about the details regarding the next season, which is very normal for most games as they wish to build the hype. Through leaks and rumours players are able to figure out what to expect from the upcoming season in Destiny 2. Through a latest leak on Twitter, players have now learned what the name of the new season could be dubbed as.
This Twitter thread has been made by joshhunt, according r/GamingLeaksandRumours, this person is also responsible for providing the name for Destiny 2 Season 14 before its release. Through this thread the players have learned that the name for Destiny 2 Season 17 has been set as ‘Season of the Haunted’. This name has popped up on their new content management system.
In the thread he stated that he does not know for sure whether this the actual name of the new season or a codename. He stated that the name only pops up internally when the content is edited on the CMS and not on the actual public page. He has also stated that this information could just be a fake lead and the players should consume it with a grain of salt.

Players have been especially hyped about the new Dungeon that will be coming to the game with the new season. According to Bungie’s blog, the new Dungeon will be available in-game a couple of days after the new season begins, on May 27, 2022. The new Dungeon will not be a part of the free-to-play package and will be paid content. Players that own Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen will be able to access it without paying.
