Please bear with me here… I really don’t know what else to do but to post here and subsequently file for another warranty claim or speak directly to support.
I am now on my THIRD Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. I had originally bought one directly from Microsoft on November 26th, 2021. Worked fine — even liked it more than my 1st gen elite controller. I bought MLB The Show 2022 and it was only until I started playing that game when I realized that the right thumbstick didn’t register properly. For those who play the game, for the pitches that require you to rotate around the edges using the right stick, there were twitches that were registered. This occurred at the 1, 5, 7, and 11 o’clock position of the right stick. I even used my two other controllers to make sure it wasn’t anything else’s problem.
Well, I did get the extended warranty, so I filed a claim on April 6th 2021 for a replacement. The replacement came and I didn’t even have to turn it on to find the problems. BOTH the left and right stick did not click when pressed on. I tried moving it around, pushing it down, pulling it a little, hoping maybe it’s just something that got stuck. Nope. Nothing.
Fine, went ahead and filed for another one hoping that I just got a little unlucky. Well, the 3rd unit came today, and the left stick is extremely stiff and sticks to the upper right region (I didn’t grab screen caps from the first controller because I didn’t think I’d have further issues, and didn’t get a video for the second one because I’m dumb).
So yeah. Now I’m on my third controller that costed me $140 before the 2 year warranty. Microsoft, how are you going to refurbish controllers that don’t work properly??
I’m going to speak with Microsoft customer service today and see if we can find a resolution here. This is ridiculous. My 1st gen elite controller is still going strong for me too. Really don’t know what’s wrong with this series 2.
I don’t have a twitter, so if someone would please like to help share this to get some traction, that would be amazing. I really don’t know if they’ll take me seriously unless this picks up.
