BioWare has revealed in its latest community update that the new Mass Effect game (which we’ll refer t as Mass Effect for now) is now in early development.
While the majority of the post was geared towards the new Dragon Age and the team behind it (as well as some brilliant fan artwork and cosplay), a snippet at the end of the post reveals that its next Mass Effect game is officially out of the prototyping phase.
There’s also the next game in the Mass Effect™ universe, which is now early in development. It’s going to be a while before we can talk about it in more detail, but we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on!

Previously, Jeff Grubb claimed that the latest instalment in the sci-fi series would not be entering full development until 2023. Little is known on Mass Effect 5 as you’d expect, but the game is expected to utilise the Unreal Engine 5 and is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
