Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 began in the most unbelievable way, they got rid of the one thing thats sets them apart from the competition, Building. Fortnite has always had a building feature in the game which players use for defence, traversing and getting a tactical advantage over their enemies.
In the latest update trailer, players saw the Imagined Order and Dr. Slone using a device which dematerialised all building material in the game. The characters of the game have built a resistance to take down the IO and get this beloved feature back to the game.
Fortnite Zero Build Mode
It seems like all this was to hype their new combat mode that has just been unveiled by Epic. This game mode will work as a different playstyle mode that will allow players to play the game without using this feature.
Many players have been wondering how they will traverse the vast Island in Fortnite as this was the main way they could reach the tall locations in the game. Another worry that the players have is that Building was their first line of defence, with that gone, how are players supposed to defend on coming attacks.
Players need not worry as this game mode will have alternative traversal options that will allow them to move through the island freely. For defence the game will also provide the players with an extra bar of shield which will recharge once depleted. The extra traversal options are as follows:
Sprinting: This new feature will provide the players with an extra boost of speed to make a quick getaway from oncoming enemy attacks.
Mantling: This new feature will allow the players to climb on top of ledges and walls for a tactical advantage from their enemies.
Sliding: Players can now slide on downwards slopes to get away from an ambush or combat quicker than usual.
Fortnite Zero Build Mode can be found in the Discover page with Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads playlists. To get to the Discover page the players will have to click on the “CHANGE” button above “PLAY!” in the Lobby.
