The Detroit Pistons<\/a>\u2019 Western road trip continues with a late-night (by our standards, at least) visit to San Francisco to take on the Warriors. Perhaps no team, outside of the Warriors themselves, is happer they moved from Oakland to the Chase Center; the Pistons lost their final seven games played at Oracle Arena across the Bay, but in San Francisco, they\u2019re 3-3, including a 122-119 victory on Jan. 4, 2023, in which Saddiq Bey answered a 3 by Klay Thompson with 2 seconds left with one of his own as the buzzer sounded.
We might be seeing the closing of the Warriors\u2019 dynastic window; they dropped Thursday\u2019s late game vs. Denver to fall two games under .500 at 16-18. Don\u2019t expect to see Draymond Green in this one; the former Saginaw and Michigan State star is still suspended \u201cindefinitely\u201d for his hit on Phoenix\u2019s Jusuf Nurkic (and a few others \u2014 consider it the \u201cLifetime Acheivement Award\u201d of suspensions). Green is on his way back, though, as ESPN reported he was close to reporting for practice with the Warriors<\/a>, with the expectation that he\u2019ll be reinstated when he\u2019s back in game shape.

When it rains, it pours: The Dubs got stellar defender Gary Payton II back a couple games ago, only to lose him to a Grade 2 hamstring strain, meaning he’ll be out for at least three weeks. That means more minutes for Chris Paul; the State Farm spokes-guard is averaging nine points and 7.3 rebounds in 27.6 minutes a game, mostly off the bench (though he had started the Warriors\u2019 previous two games).
The Pistons, meanwhile, are back to their losing ways, dropping two straight since snapping their NBA-record 28-game losing streak on Saturday. They certainly don\u2019t lack for offense, as they put up 148 in an overtime loss to the Jazz on Wednesday, with Bojan Bogdanovic putting up 36 points, Cade Cunningham adding 31 and 13 assists and Alec Burks throwing in 27 points. Unfortunately, they lack a bit of defense, as the Jazz scored 154 \u2014 the Pistons entered Thursday giving up 121.1 points per 100 possessions, the third-worst rate in the league (behind the Washington Wizards at 122.2 and the Charlotte Hornets at 121.6).
