Today the Japanese gaming website 4Gamer published its traditional end-of-the-year post in which many developers talk about the past year and their ambition for 2024. Usually, this is a chance for some to tease unannounced games, and this year is no exception.<\/p>\n
We start with Atlus’ Eiji Ishida, who recently co-produced and co-directed Soul Hackers 2<\/em>. Ishida-san mentions that he’s involved in the development of an unannounced game, the release date of which has not been determined yet.<\/p>\n
The wording also implies that he’s not directing this one, likely playing the role of producer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/picture>Will Ishida-san’s new game be similar to\u00a0Soul Hackers 2\u00a0<\/em>or something completely different?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
SNK’s Second Development Division Manager\u00a0Kazuhiro Fujishige mentions that the recently-opened Tokyo branch of the storied fighting game developer is actively developing one or more (Japanese doesn’t really distinguish between plural and singular) AAA games.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No More Heroes 3<\/em> director\u00a0Ren Yamazaki says that he hopes to have something to announce by the end of 2024. We don’t know whether this is the new game teased by Goichi “Suda51” Suda earlier this year or something else entirely.<\/p>\n
Akihiro Suzuki, producer of the\u00a0Dynasty Warriors\u00a0<\/em>series at Koei Tecmo mentions that he’s sorry about not being able to provide news about the franchise in 2023, but he hopes to be able to do so in 2024.<\/p>\n
Junzo Hosoi, head of Atelier<\/em> developer Gust\u00a0says that the company is continuing to work hard on development to bring surprises and new experiences in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n
NieR: Automata<\/em> producer Yosuke Saito, wonders whether he’ll be able to announce something new this year or not, and encourages the fans to wait a bit longer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While he didn’t tease new games, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth<\/em> director\u00a0Naoki Hamaguchi says that he hopes that many fans will be able to witness Aerith’s fate. You really had to go there, Hamaguchi-san…\u00a0<\/p>\n
Final Fantasy XIV<\/em> director and producer Naoki Yoshida mentions that his\u00a0Business Division 3 will embark on a new challenge in 2024.<\/p>\n
Too Kyo Games director and scenario writer\u00a0Kotaro Uchikoshi, who recently worked on the\u00a0AI: The Somnium Files<\/em> series, teases that he hopes to be able to announce an insane and crazy title that will go down in gaming history by the end of the year.<\/p>\n
Uhikoshi-san’s colleague\u00a0Kazutaka Kodaka, who recently released\u00a0Master Detective Archives: Rain Code<\/em>, mentions that his next project is nearing the climax of its development and another new one is about to start.<\/p>\n
He adds that the next game is insane worthy of the name “Too Kyo” which means “too crazy,” and will be announced in 2024. It’s a game the studio is very passionate about and working very hard on.<\/p>\n
At the moment, we don’t know whether Uchikoshi-san and Kodaka-san are talking about the same game or different projects, as they don’t always work together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yoshimi Yasuda, CEO and director at Dragami Games (formerly Kadokawa Games) teases that besides the\u00a0Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP<\/em> remaster, he’s working on another game, which he believes will be announced in 2025.<\/p>\n
Last, but not least, Nihon Falcom CEO and producer\u00a0Toshihiro Kondo explains that on top of the developers’s established series, he’s now planning to release other games.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some are already in development and the hope is to announce them at some point in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
