Dying Light 2<\/strong> continues to expand with countless collaborations and a development team dedicated to rolling content out post-launch. With a variety of big names under its belt, such as Dead Island and Dying Light, developer Techland isn\u2019t solely improving upon its 2022 zombie parkour sequel, though. Thanks to a recently listed job offer, we now know that the team has a brand-new game in the works, a fantastical open-world ARPG.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right, the studio behind\u00a0iconic\u00a0horror games\u00a0like\u00a0Dying Light 2\u00a0has a new project in the works, and it sounds as though it\u2019ll differ from other Techland entries. The developer\u2019s latest job listing offers our first look at the unknown game,\u00a0as Techland searches for a new junior writer to help \u201ccreate unforgettable experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

The dev explains that the team is not only \u201ccontinuously growing the world of Dying Light through a robust post-launch support plan for Dying Light 2\u201d but is also\u00a0working on an open-world ARPG \u201cset in a brand new fantasy universe.\u201d Techland then refers to this mysterious action RPG as its \u201cbiggest project to date.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the studio doesn\u2019t say much else in its\u00a0advertisement\u00a0about the ARPG, it\u2019s exciting to hear that the project takes place in an entirely new universe. The dev doesn\u2019t detail whether or not \u201cfantasy\u201d refers to the unannounced game\u2019s genre or simply its fictional elements, but this is certainly no Dead Island or Dying Light 3.<\/p>\n

As the job offer is specific to writers, I\u2019m hoping that it\u2019s a sign the action RPG will be more story-driven than Techland\u2019s previous games. As our own Dying Light 2 review states, the team\u2019s most recent release was an initially disappointing one when compared to the\u00a010\/10\u00a0original. With poor storytelling and\u00a0repetitive side content, parkour can only carry a game so far.<\/p>\n
