Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2\u00a0<\/strong>is nearing its release date, and I\u2019m only growing more impatient. As I hungrily devour every bit of news from The Chinese Room and Paradox Interactive,\u00a0the developers keep\u00a0me sated with reveals such as the latest which showcases the RPG\u2019s fourth and final playable class. If you were hoping for the\u00a0Clan of Kings, the proud Ventrue, then you\u2019re in luck.<\/p>\n

Sorry, Malkavian stans. The last launch-ready clan coming in\u00a0Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2\u00a0is indeed the Ventrue. One of the\u00a0original RPG game\u2018s playable seven clans, the Ventrue desire\u00a0power and\u00a0prove that wealth, rank, and status equal strength rather than brute force. In my opinion, these noble baddies stand as one of Bloodlines\u2019 best clans, from their flawless style to their dominance and unique dialogue.<\/p>\n

Paradox Interactive describes the clan in the coming sequel as familiar with power, made up of members\u00a0deemed to be the \u201crightful leaders of vampire society.\u201d The Ventrue is also the head of the Camarilla sect, which\u00a0goes to show how the clan\u2019s vampires dominate among other undead just as they do over their human prey.<\/p>\n

While its members\u2019 ability to\u00a0maintain dominance over friends and foes alike makes the Ventrue a strong choice,\u00a0and one of my favorites, these bougie bloodsuckers do come with cons. You need to watch how you eat since you can\u2019t drink from any animals and get sick if you feed on\u00a0certain humans.<\/p>\n

Any cons\u00a0feel well worth it when you\u00a0consider the advantages,\u00a0including Disciplines such as Dominate and\u00a0Presence. Roleplaying as the Ventrue is super, and\u00a0I\u2019m happy with the variety the developer\u00a0is giving us with the sequel\u2019s first four clans. The recently revealed Banu Haqim\u00a0came as a \u00a0surprise, following the more familiar Brujah and Tremere.<\/p>\n

We have melee fighters, scholars, silent assassins, and influential nobles to choose from thus far. If you were hoping to see the Toreador make the cut, or another beloved clan,\u00a0don\u2019t despair\u00a0as the dev says<\/a> more clans will drop with post-launch DLC. One of these mysterious clans will give us \u201ca new way to experience the main game\u201d while the\u00a0second one\u00a0will offer \u201ca completely unique Seattle story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Between the Malkavians, the Nosferatu, and the Toreador, I think we\u2019ll get one more clan familiar to players of the first game along with a clan not seen in-game before, such as the Banu Haqim.\u00a0Lasombra,\u00a0perhaps? For now, we can enjoy other bloodthirst-quenching vampire games. If you\u2019re open to any narrative-driven experience, creatures of the night included or otherwise,\u00a0look through these\u00a0story games\u00a0with entrancing lore.<\/p>\n
