Tampa Bay defenseman honored for reaching milestone
DAL@TBL: Lightning honor Hedman for 1,000 games
The Tampa Bay Lightning celebrated defenseman Victor Hedman<\/a>\u2019s 1,000th NHL game on Monday before their matchup with the Dallas Stars at Amalie Arena.
Hedman\u2019s teammates wore special T-shirts during walk-ins to commemorate the milestone. The T-shirts had Hedman\u2019s number on an emblem with \u201c1,000 NHL Games\u201d written underneath.

During warmups, the team all wore jerseys with the number 1,000 on them and Hedman\u2019s last name listed.

Hedman got a special message from friends and former teammates, in a video posted by the team on social media.

Before puck drop, Hedman was joined by his family on the ice for a special ceremony.
