The Witcher 4<\/strong> is exciting, and that\u2019s to say the least. I\u2019ve been waiting for news on CD Projekt Red\u2019s long-awaited Witcher 3 follow-up for ages, and it looks like I\u2019ve finally got some. CD Projekt Red shared its quarterly financial results recently,\u00a0providing insight into the developer\u2019s ongoing projects. We now know that the Polaris team, CDPR\u2019s Witcher 4-focused collection of developers, is the company\u2019s biggest.<\/p>\n

This means that\u00a0The Witcher 4\u00a0has overtaken Cyberpunk 2077\u00a0with CD Projekt Red\u2019s\u00a0most sizeable development team. During the company\u2019s third-quarter earnings conference, CDPR CEO\u00a0Adam Kici\u0144ski revealed that the Polaris team is only going to get bigger. \u201cIt\u2019s expected to grow to over 400 by mid-next year,\u201d\u00a0Kici\u0144ski said, \u201chaving reached almost 330 developers at the end of last month.\u201d<\/p>\n

The November 28\u00a0conference\u00a0showed\u00a0that a chunk of devs is working on The Molasses Flood\u2019s team which heads a Witcher spinoff game dubbed \u2018Project Sirius.\u2019 Cyberpunk\u2019s Phantom Liberty expansion also boasts an impressive team on the conference\u2019s\u00a0charts, along with the\u00a0RPG game\u2018s upcoming Ultimate Edition.<\/p>\n

Kici\u0144ski stated that around 700 developers total are employed across CD Projekt Red and The Molasses Flood. This means that those working on The Witcher 4 and the series\u2019 spinoff game make up half or more of all developers. In comparison, Cyberpunk\u2019s Phantom Liberty team, CDPR\u2019s previous biggest, had around 300 developers as VGC reported following the prior quarterly conference.<\/p>\n
