Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3<\/strong> is now available to those who\u2019ve pre-ordered, though some of them are reporting they can\u2019t play the game they\u2019ve paid a premium on for the privilege of playing ahead of everyone who won\u2019t pay more.<\/p>\n

The reason they can\u2019t play, is that their PS5<\/strong> is spitting back an error message at players, which tells them that they can\u2019t play this year\u2019s brand new Call Of Duty<\/strong>, because they need to insert the disc for last year\u2019s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the revelation that on PS5 at least, Modern Warfare 3 doesn\u2019t have a platinum trophy<\/strong>, and instead appears as a DLC list under Modern Warfare 2, it\u2019ll be now likely be impossible for MW3 to shake the image of being DLC from last year\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s what we originally heard about this year\u2019s game, that it was going to be a \u201cpaid\u201d expansion of Modern Warfare 2, with campaign content.<\/p>\n

Plans did reportedly change, and it\u2019s now being sent out as it\u2019s own complete premium game, but this week\u2019s events aren\u2019t helping anyone be so sure it ever actually grew into a full game.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no word on why the issue happened in the first place, though Activision has published a patch which it says should solve the problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn update has gone line to address an issue causing some Players to encounter a \u2018disc required\u2019 error. Please restart the game for the update to take effect.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be available to the rest of the public next Friday, November 10, though if this DLC sentiment spreads and turns negative, it would be once again that Sledgehammer Games<\/strong> bears the brunt of delivering a disappointing Call Of Duty in eyes of the players.<\/p>\n

Or worse, its parent company\u2019s, which now include Microsoft. <\/strong><\/p>\n
