We are learning more from the sister of the Seneca High School football player who was airlifted off the field during a game in South Carolina.
Amber Skidmore told WYFF News 4 that her brother Aden Henry, who is a junior varsity player for Seneca, was airlifted from Walhalla High School Thursday night.
Skidmore said Aden was taken into surgery doctors where discovered a hematoma on his brain.
She said he had surgery to relieve the pressure and is now sedated.
“We would also like to thank the Seneca coaches for coming and sitting with us during Aden\u2019s surgery, and not leaving our sides until they knew he was in recovery, and that all went well,” Skidmore wrote on Facebook. “We know Aden loves each and everyone of you, and his team We are absolutely grateful for all the prayers, and thoughts that got sent to him last night before the helicopter could even take off! Prayer works, and GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!”
Skidmore said the recovery will be long but Aden is the “toughest, roughest, and strongest person.”<\/p>\n

“We can\u2019t say enough how grateful we are for each and every person that has prayed and sent messages, checked on him and our family,” Skidmore told WYFF News 4. “Also how amazing his football coaches are while being there not only for him on the field during the season, but also being there with us during what was easily the hardest night of our lives.. knowing our favorite boy was fighting for his life. If one thing everyone should know about Aden is that he is a Fighter and Bobcat Strong.”
