To ensure you\u2019re spending Runes and leveling up your character as efficiently as possible, we\u2019ve detailed everything you need to know about Elden Ring\u2019s Attribute soft caps in this guide.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Soft caps for every Stat\/Attribute in Elden Ring<\/h2>\n

\n
• Vigor:<\/strong> 40\/60<\/li>\n
• Mind:<\/strong> 55\/60<\/li>\n
• Endurance (Stamina):<\/strong> 15 \/ 30\/ 50<\/li>\n
• Endurance (Equip Load)<\/strong>: 25\/60<\/li>\n
• Strength:<\/strong> 20\/55\/80<\/li>\n
• Dexterity:<\/strong> 20\/55\/80<\/li>\n
• Intelligence (Attack):<\/strong> 20\/50\/80<\/li>\n
• Intelligence (Sorcery)<\/strong>: 60\/80<\/li>\n
• Faith (Attack):<\/strong> 20\/50\/80<\/li>\n
• Faith (Incantation): <\/strong>60\/80<\/li>\n

  What is a soft cap in Elden Ring?<\/h2>\n

  When you\u2019ve raised an Attribute to a certain number, the benefit gained from leveling it will become less significant. This is known as the \u201csoft cap\u201d or sometimes as a \u201cbreakpoint.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

  For example, Vigor increases HP<\/strong> by an average of +29.5<\/strong> until the player reaches 40 Vigor. From 41-60, this decreases to an average of +22.5<\/strong>. From 61<\/strong> onward, this reduces even further<\/strong> to a measly +5.1.<\/p>\n

  Simply put, leveling Vigor beyond level 60 typically isn\u2019t worth your Runes. Investing them into another stat would be far more beneficial \u2014 unless you have Runes coming out of the wazoo.<\/p>\n

  Vigor<\/h3>\n

  \n
  • Level 1-40<\/strong> \u2014 Increases HP between +4 and +48<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Level 41-60<\/strong> \u2014 Increases HP between +26 and +13<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Level 61-99<\/strong> \u2014 Increases HP between +6 and +3<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Vigor<\/strong> affects how much HP<\/strong> your character has, as well as fire resistance and Immunity. Everything is out to kill you in Elden Ring, and they\u2019re all damn good at it. Since you need all the health you can get, we suggest investing a minimum of 40 Vigor into any character<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Mind<\/h3>\n

    • Level 1-15 <\/strong>\u2014 Increases FP between +3 and +4<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Level 16-35<\/strong> \u2014 Increases FP between +5 and +6<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Level 36-50<\/strong> \u2014 Increases FP between +7 and +6<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Level 51-60<\/strong> \u2014 Increases FP between +6 and +4<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Level 61-99<\/strong> \u2014 Increases FP between +2 and +3<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Mind<\/strong> affects your character\u2019s FP<\/strong> (Focus Points) and Focus stat. Interestingly, the FP you gain from Mind actually\u00a0increases<\/strong> after you invest 15 points<\/strong>\u00a0and increases again from 36-50<\/strong>. It begins to decrease slightly from 51-60 before hitting its true soft cap at 61+.<\/p>\n

      How much you should invest in Mind depends on the magic skills you plan to use. If you\u2019re consistently running out of FP during fights, focus on increasing Mind until you can safely use your skills without worrying about resource management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      There\u2019s nothing more satisfying than firing the giant death laser that is Comet Azur, which is why I personally brought Mind all the way to 60.<\/p>\n

      Endurance<\/h3>\n

      • Level 1-15<\/strong> \u2014 Increases Stamina by an average of +1.79\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Level 16-30<\/strong> \u2014 Increases Stamina by an average of +1.67<\/li>\n
      • Level 31-50<\/strong> \u2014 Increases Stamina by an average of +1.25<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Level 51-99<\/strong> \u2014 Increases Stamina by an average of +0.31<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Level 1-15<\/strong> \u2014 Increases maximum Equip Load by an average of +1.59<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Level 26-60<\/strong> \u2014 Increases maximum Equip Load by an average of +1.36<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Level 61-99<\/strong> \u2014 Increases maximum Equip Load by an average of +1.03<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Endurance<\/strong> affects Stamina<\/strong> and Robustness, as well as your Equip Load. <\/strong>Rolling is\u00a0everything\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>in Elden Ring and other Soulsborne titles, and Endurance influences your rolls in multiple ways.<\/p>\n

          Firstly, Stamina is needed to roll and for actions like sprinting and spellcasting. It\u2019s important to every build type unless you\u2019re a complete masochist. Secondly, your Endurance will affect your character\u2019s weight class (Equip Load)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 the heavier you are, the slower your roll is.<\/p>\n

          There isn\u2019t much difference between a Light and Med. Load, and being naked to achieve a Light Load isn\u2019t ideal. Aim for a weight ratio of 30 \u2013 69.% to keep at a Med. Load<\/strong>. Anything higher than that, and your stamina regeneration worsens, and your roll becomes longer.<\/p>\n

          Strength<\/h3>\n

          Strength<\/strong> affects the Attack Power<\/strong> of Strength-based weapons, <\/strong>like large hammers and swords. The soft cap for strength<\/strong> entirely depends on the weapon<\/strong> you\u2019re using and its damage type<\/strong>. Most melee weapons have a Strength requirement to be able to use, typically paired with a Dexterity requirement.<\/p>\n

          Dexterity<\/h3>\n

          Strength<\/strong> affects the Attack Power<\/strong> of Dexterity-based weapons<\/strong>, such as scythes and katanas. It also reduces the cast time of Spells, slightly decreases fall damage, and makes it more difficult to be knocked off Torrent.<\/p>\n
