Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em> lets you assemble a big team of varied characters around your campsite. Plus, there are even more party members to recruit throughout the game, with some being locked away behind certain choices. Unfortunately, you won\u2019t be able to take every companion out with you for the adventure. So let\u2019s talk about how many party members Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em> allows at once.<\/p>\n

Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em>: How many party members can you have<\/h2>\n

Once you\u2019re a good few hours into the game, you\u2019ll likely already have Lae\u2019zel, Gale, Shadowheart, and Astarion all at your camp. But you will need to make a hard decision once you decide to leave again. Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em> only allows you to make a maximum party of four<\/strong>. So you\u2019ll have to force at least some characters to sit on the bench.<\/p>\n

This is such a hard decision to make because each character has unique comments for certain situations. And while you can just simply swap them out once you go back to camp, it\u2019s annoying to feel like you\u2019re missing out on something. Unfortunately, this is just a thing you\u2019ll have to settle with. The good news is that benched party members still gain experience equal to the outgoing party<\/strong>. So, when you want to tag them back in, you don\u2019t need to worry about them being under-leveled.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em> doesn\u2019t force you to fill out your party member slots. In fact, if you so desire, you can head out into the world alone and opt for a lone wolf playthrough. Or maybe you\u2019ll want to tag along with just your favorite vampire pal Astarion. The game will obviously be much harder if you do this, but it could be a fun challenge for those that know Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/em> extremely well at this point. There are also mods that can extend the party member limit to exceed four. But this comes with the risk of harming the game\u2019s balance. That\u2019s an avenue you can go down if you simply can\u2019t choose who to take though.<\/p>\n
