Tips for using Springs<\/h2>\n

Traversal with Springs<\/h3>\n

Naturally, Springs specialize in launching in-game objects and, more importantly, Link high into the air. When standing on a Spring, hitting it with an arrow or a jump strike will activate it, allowing you to access high-up locations that you would normally burn through a lot of stamina trying to scale. If you stack multiple Springs before activating the one up top, the extra Springs will increase the total distance you get launched. You can stack this launch distance by quite a bit, but generally, I found that stacking two or three Springs was generally more than enough to clear most height-related hurdles.<\/p>\n

Taking out Springs and positioning them for a launch can prove a bit cumbersome in the moment, however. Because of this, you might want to fuse one to a shield to have easier access to its launching capability. By performing a shield surf with a Spring attached, you will automatically launch yourself upward. You don\u2019t go as high with this method as you do normally, but the convenience of it more than makes up for this.<\/p>\n

Combat with Springs<\/h3>\n

In combat, launching yourself with the Spring serves as a fantastic way to avoid danger and pick away at enemies through bullet time. If fused with a weapon, the Spring will fling most enemies away upon hit, which mostly helps when next to high cliffs, lava, or other hazards that can kill foes instantly.<\/p>\n

Springs fused to shields have other neat uses in combat aside from providing easy bullet time access. When an enemy strikes a Spring Shield with a melee attack, the foe will bounce away from you, which can aid you in crowd control. Additionally, Springs are some of the few tools you have in Tears of the Kingdom\u00a0<\/em>that can let you automatically reflect projectiles. Just by holding up a Spring Shield, you can return thrown rocks and even Gleeok fireballs back to sender without much risk.<\/p>\n
