Today third-party developers have shared relevant news about existing and upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em>, including a beloved airliner.<\/p>\n

We start with Fenix Simulations, which revealed some really juicy details about its upcoming plans. First of all, the popular Airbus A320 will get a paid expansion package featuring the Airbus A321 and A319.<\/p>\n

The longer and shorter versions of Airbus’ workhorse will be bundled in a single package priced at\u00a0\u00a339.99. It’ll release by the end of 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On top of this, we also hear more about the upcoming free updates for the Airbus A320. They’ll be split into two parts.<\/p>\n

The first part named “Block 1” will come “over the coming days” and include the following (with full patch notes coming at release):<\/p>\n

FBWv2, FMv2, the first of our new displays (ISIS, and smaller displays will come later), all our code-side performance optimizations (including the new display render tech!), a good chunk of the non-dependant avionics improvements throughout the airplane, including our new VNAV, and bug fixes aplenty.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The second part (Block 2)will come in September and will include the following:<\/p>\n

Rhe new visual model, IAE and external engine model, further avionics fixes, EFBv2, and any revisions or improvements we see required to Block 1<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yet, that’s not all, because in early 2024 all the aircraft (A320, A321, and A319) will get the version with sharklets with no additional purchase required.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking of updates, we also hear from DC Designs, which is working on a relevant update for its F-14 Tomcat, which will add the F-14D version with no additional purchase required. Work is already going on as you can see below, including the\u00a0LANTIRN pod and chin sensors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Work on the cockpit will start next week, while the new ejection seats are almost ready. The developer still has to work on the additions in the pilot\u2019s cockpit for the HUD assembly and MFDs, and the Radio Intercept Officer\u2019s main panel.<\/p>\n

As usual, it’s work mentioning that this is a completely separate rendition of the Tomcat from the one we showcased yesterday from Indiafoxtecho and Heatblur. As a matter of fact, that one won’t include the D variant.<\/p>\n

Lastly, Shadescene announced its new airport in the works. While the name wasn’t explicitly mentioned, the fire rescue service garage and buildings in the screenshot published (which you can see below) are recognizable. It’s\u00a0Langkawi International Airport (WMKL) in Malaysia. Specifically, the large building is the venue of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition.<\/p>\n

It’s the 4th-busiest airport in the country and serves quite a few domestic and Asian destinations with scheduled passenger flights.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em>\u00a0is available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, on top of Game Pass.
