The FTC<\/strong> is increasingly becoming Microsoft\u2019s<\/strong> biggest roadblock in its attempt to purchase Activision Blizzard King,<\/strong> as it\u2019s already been made clear that it could be the reason Microsoft abandons the deal all together.<\/p>\n

It seems that part of what\u2019s behind the FTC\u2019s fervor is that it doesn\u2019t believe Microsoft will actually follow through with keeping Activision Blizzard titles on all platforms, and not make them exclusive like it did following its Zenimax<\/strong> acquisition.<\/p>\n

Part of this is indicated with the FTC calling Bethesda\u2019s<\/strong> Pete Hines<\/strong> as a witness, to ask specifically about the Zenimax deal.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been reported previously that Starfield <\/strong>and other Bethesda titles weren\u2019t in fact meant to be Xbox console exclusives before the deal, but that changed once Microsoft acquired Zenimax.<\/p>\n

As this case evolves, it\u2019ll be interesting to see what ends up becoming public about the Zenimax deal. There\u2019s also a parallel lawsuit which alleges that Microsoft\u2019s intent behind purchasing Activision Blizzard is to try and eliminate PlayStation from the competition.<\/p>\n
