A day one patch isn\u2019t the only thing that Square Enix<\/strong> doesn\u2019t have planned for Final Fantasy XVI<\/strong>, as game director Hiroshi Takai <\/strong>admitted in an interview with Game Informer that there are currently no plans for DLC to continue the game\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

Instead, Takai and game producer Naoki Yoshida <\/strong>say they would rather wait and see if there is player interest in seeing more to the story of Final Fantasy XVI, which is otherwise a \u201cone-off game,\u201d as Yoshida describes it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have no idea if people are going to fall in love with Valisthea and fall in love with Clive\u2019s story and want to see more of the world and more of its characters.<\/p>\n

So while we always want to consider DLC or spinoffs or those types of things where you can learn more about the game, first we want to see if Valisthea and Clive are really things players around the world want to see more of and then make that decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Having DLC to follow the launch of a single-player, story-driven title has become something a lot of players might expect, especially with such a large franchise like Final Fantasy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Yoshida and Takai taking the \u2018wait and see\u2019 approach, it\u2019ll be interesting to see where fans end up landing, and if the game\u2019s sales numbers help to back up the desire for DLC.<\/p>\n
