Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>sales managed to reach 250,000 in just four days, according to new data revealed by publisher Paradox Interactive. This figure makes the fourth major installment in the\u00a0Age of Wonders\u00a0<\/em>series the fastest-selling across its franchise, which should be encouraging if you love these games.<\/p>\n

In a press release, Paradox says that between May 2nd, when\u00a0Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>launched, and May 6th, the game sold 250,000 copies across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. These sales take into account both pre-orders and post-launch sales and also incorporate both the standard and premium editions of\u00a0Age of Wonders 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A followup tweet<\/a> by Paradox also quotes SteamDB data showing that\u00a0Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>was the best-selling game on Steam between May 2nd and May 9th. The game managed to beat out competitors like\u00a0Star Wars Jedi: Survivor<\/em>,\u00a0Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II<\/em>, and the Steam Deck (for which sales are tracked via Steam).<\/p>\n

Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester described creating\u00a0Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>alongside Triumph Studios as “a very rewarding experience”, calling the game “a wonderful testament” to how the two studios’ design philosophies intertwine. Triumph co-founder Lennart Sas says the reception from players and the community at large has been “incredible” and reaffirms that\u00a0Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>will receive regular support in the form of new content and updates.<\/p>\n

You can pick up\u00a0Age of Wonders 4\u00a0<\/em>right now on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game’s first major expansion,\u00a0Dragon Dawn<\/em>, is set to launch sometime in summer, and it’ll also be included as part of the Season Pass and the premium edition.
