Nintendo has recently announced on Twitter that they have finally decided to implement a name change of a character in the early\u00a0Nintendo Entertainment System\u00a0game, Wrecking Crew. The character named Blackie will be known by that name no longer in Japan and will be called Spike to fall in line with the western name of the very same character. Blackie will also be called Spike when The Super Mario Bros. Movie launches in Japan on Friday, 28th April.<\/p>\n

The name of the character \u201cBlackie,\u201d which appears in \u201cWrecking Crew\u201d and other games for the Family Computer, will be changed to \u201cSpike,\u201d the same name used in the United States and Europe. The name in \u201cThe Super Mario Brothers Movie,\u201d which will be released on April 28, 2023, will be \u201cSpike\u201d as well.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
