Out on the shadowy seas of Dredge<\/em>, one of the best ways to acquire new items and resources is to help the colorful characters you meet out with their pressing problems. These problems take the form of Pursuits, the quest lines that run like fishing wire throughout the game. One of the earliest Pursuits you\u2019ll encounter in Dredge<\/em> is A Place to Rest, found on the\u00a0opening isle of Greater Marrow, and this guide will teach you exactly how to complete it.<\/p>\n

How to help a Builder out in Dredge<\/em><\/h2>\n

Step 1: Head to Greater Marrow and start the Pursuit<\/h3>\n

The A Place to Rest Pursuit is given to you by the Builder, a character who appears on Greater Marrow once you\u2019ve received dredging equipment from the Collector on Blackstone Isle. You\u2019ll need to select her name on the left-hand side of the screen to talk to her. Once you do, she\u2019ll ask you a few questions, and express her desire to leave Greater Marrow for islands new. She\u2019ll then task you with setting up a shelter for her on Steel Point, an island north of Greater Marrow.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Set sail for Steel Point<\/h3>\n

From here, you\u2019ll want to make a beeline for Steel Point. The Builder will mark its location on your map with a red X, so you\u2019ll be able to find it easily even if you haven\u2019t been there before. Make sure you\u2019re rested up, then sail north from Greater Marrow to find Steel Point. Dock your boat, and check out the Material Pile there. You\u2019ll see that it requires two Lumber and two Scrap Metal in order to create a sufficient shelter for the Builder.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Dredge up 2 Lumber and 2 Scrap Metal<\/h3>\n

Your next task is to gather those materials. You\u2019ll find salvage spots all over the map, but there\u2019s a particular density of them around Steel Point, so you can probably get everything you need right there. Once you have two Lumber and two Scrap Metal, return to Steel Point and slot the materials in on the Material Pile. With that done, you\u2019ll be prompted to speak to the Builder back on Greater Marrow.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Deliver the Builder to Steel Point<\/h3>\n

Rest up on Steel Point, then sail back south to Greater Marrow. Speak to the Builder, and she\u2019ll ask that you ferry her over to Steel Point immediately. You\u2019ll need to place her in the cargo hold of your boat to do this, so make sure you have a 2\u00d73 or 3\u00d72 space available that will fit her. Once she\u2019s safely on board, sail back north to Steel Point again. Make sure you don\u2019t hit any rocks or take any damage, as you can permanently lose the Builder overboard if that happens. After your voyage is complete, the Builder will thank you for your help, and the A Place to Rest Pursuit will be complete.<\/p>\n

Rewards<\/h3>\n

Once you drop her off on Steel Point, the Builder will give you two Research Parts for your trouble, and ask you to come and see her later after she\u2019s had a chance to settle into her new home. Make sure you do this, as the real reward for this Pursuit, the book \u2018The Engineers Companion\u2019, will be given to you when you do. It\u2019s a useful book that causes your durability-based equipment, such as Trawl Nets and Crab Pots, to lose durability 10% slower, saving you a lot of money in repair fees in the long run.<\/p>\n

So there you have it: you\u2019ve helped the Builder start a bold new life, and received a great new book and some Research Parts in return. Since this is one of the earlier Pursuits you can tackle in Dredge<\/em>, knowing how to complete A Place to Rest will stand you in good stead for the rest of your playthrough.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
