Today Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive Entertainment released another update for the PC version of\u00a0The Last of Us Part I<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The update follows a hotfix released earlier this week and it’s much more sizable. It is numbered\u00a0v1.0.2.0, and it includes many much-needed fixes to improve the experience on PC. It touches on performance, user experience, visuals, and more.<\/p>\n

• Fixed a crash that may occur while quickly swapping between character skin thumbnails<\/li>\n
• Fixed a crash that may occur on version 1.0.1.6 during shader loads when booting the game for the first time<\/li>\n
• Fixed one known crash that would happen randomly during gameplay<\/li>\n
• Updated texture streaming to reduce CPU usage<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where DualSense and Xbox One controllers\u2019 analog sticks failed to respond<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where extraneous SFX played in both main and in-game \u201cOptions\u201d menus<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where the Depth of Field setting\u2019s (Options > Graphics > Post-Effects Settings > Depth of Field) sharpness may change based on the Render Scale\u2019s settings (Options > Display > Resolution Scaling > Render Scale)<\/li>\n
• Updated Graphics settings (Options > Graphics) user interface to accurately display VRAM usage<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where Environments Texture Quality setting (Options > Graphics > Texture Settings > Environments Texture Quality) did not display the correct VRAM usage<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where the pop-up to enable diagnostics after a crash did not appear<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where certain artifacts and weapon skins textures may not properly render<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue with the tutorial\u2019s user interface not displaying correctly<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where mouse wheel scrolling in menus with dropdown options may accelerate faster than intended<\/li>\n
• Increased active loading to reduce load times on gameplay progression<\/li>\n
• Fixed an issue where camera orientation may warp to cursor position after exiting the Pause menu<\/li>\n
• [Photo Mode] Fixed an issue where camera will not rotate in while in the Lighting tab<\/li>\n
• [The Quarantine Zone] Fixed an issue where the player and buddy characters may suddenly appear wet during gameplay<\/li>\n
• [The Quarantine Zone, Left Behind] Fixed an issue where lighting and texture may flicker during gameplay<\/li>\n
• [The Outskirts] Fixed a gap in geometry visible during gameplay<\/li>\n
• [The Suburbs] Fixed an issue where animations may fail to load during gameplay<\/li>\n
• [The Suburbs] Restored the window-breaking and car-shaking FX in the sniper in-game cinematic<\/li>\n
• [Tommy\u2019s Dam] Fixed an issue where horse animations would fail to load during an in-game cinematic<\/li>\n
• [Bus Depot] Fixed an issue where water FX may appear choppy during gameplay<\/li>\n
• [The Firefly Lab] Fixed a LOD issue where enemy NPCs\u2019 helmets may vanish or appear corrupted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  There are also fixes specific to\u00a0Left Behind<\/em>,\u00a0Steam Deck compatibility, and more. You can find a full list on Naughty Dog’s own website.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  At the moment, the game has been slammed with “Mixed” reviews on Steam, and hopefully, the issues recorded at launch will serve as a learning experience for Naughty Dog, which\u00a0has pledged to continue engaging in PC development going forward.<\/p>\n

  If you’re unfamiliar with\u00a0The Last of Us,\u00a0<\/em>it’s an\u00a0ultra-popular post-apocalyptic adventure game that was originally released by Naughty Dog in 2013 for PS3 and then remastered for PS4 only a year after. The remake titled\u00a0The Last of Us Part I\u00a0<\/em>was then released for PS5 last year, and it launched on PC today.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  A sequel,\u00a0titled The Last of Us Part II\u00a0was released to critical acclaim for PS4 in 2020, while Naughty Dog is currently working on\u00a0a multiplayer title set in the franchise’s world\u00a0about which we know very little, but is said to be one of the developer’s most ambitious projects and more news have been promised for later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  A TV show has recently aired on HBO and HBO Max, and it has been met with widespread praise from critics and fans. It\u00a0has been renewed for season 2\u00a0after just two episodes, which is definitely a testimony to its success and to how loved the franchise is by its fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
