The short 2-minute 14 seconds long gameplay trailer gives players an idea of what to expect from the title. The video kicks off with a bunch of cinematics and by the 30 second mark we get to see the actual gameplay. Through the video, we learn that Aliens: Dark Descent will feature gameplay from the top-down perspective.<\/p>\n
As mentioned earlier, this title is a squad-based, real-time, tactical action game. Players will assume the role of a commander, who is supported by his squad of marines. Their task is to investigate an incident that has caused a Xenomorph uprising on the moon.<\/p>\n
It further showcases that the player and his squad will move as one unit across the map and commands that are issued to the squad will be directly dispatched to the member that is best for it. Playing strategically will be a key factor in the game, and players will be equipped with a time stop ability during combat situations in order to provide tactical commands to the squad.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the game also has a permadeath feature, therefore any marine lost in combat will be gone forever. Players will be put in large maps, where exploring will help them find tactical routes and locations for the main, as well as side missions. Players’ squads can also be levelled up through special abilities, custom gears, weapons and more.<\/p>\n
