Take-Two, <\/strong>the publisher with Rockstar<\/strong> and 2K <\/strong>under its belt has begun another round of layoffs across multiple branches of its business, including its indie publisher Private Division.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Private Division has recently published titles like Kerbal Space Program 2, OlliOlli World, Rollerdrome, <\/strong>and Hades.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bloomberg\u2019s Jason Schreier reports that Take-Two spokesperson Alan Lewis says the layoffs \u201d \u2018will better align our organization with our long-term priorities\u2019 and that the impact on dev teams is \u2018minimal.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

Video game publisher Take-Two is laying people off today in its Private Division label and other divisions, sources tell Bloomberg. Spokesman Alan Lewis says the cuts “will better align our organization with our long-term priorities” and that the impact on dev teams is “minimal.”<\/p>\n

The true effect of these layoffs has yet to be felt, though it is never a good thing to hear coming from anywhere in the industry.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s especially disheartening to see this happen to a publisher that has helped bring some of the best indie titles in the last few years to the industry.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first round of layoffs we\u2019ve seen from Take-Two in 2023 however, as Rockstar was initially hit with layoffs, probably due to Grand Theft Auto V not selling enough copies.<\/p>\n
