Third-party developers released a couple of new airport add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em>, on top of sharing news about more upcoming scenery.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We start with Orbx, which launched a ton of new screenshots\u00a0of the upcoming Oslo Gardermoen Airport (ENGM) serving the capital of Norway. According to the developers, it’s “very close” to release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s worth mentioning that this is a completely separate project from the one in development at Aerosoft, which appears to be still a ways out.<\/p>\n

Next, we get an announcement from TDM Scenery Design, which is now working on\u00a0Requena Aerodrome, a small airport near Valencia, Spain, mostly used for light general aviation and gliding.<\/p>\n

Speaking of releases, Verticalsim finally launched\u00a0Tampa International Airport\u00a0(KTPA) in the US.<\/p>\n

It’s currently available on the developer’s own store\u00a0for\u00a0$21.99. In the package, you get the following.<\/p>\n

• Animated passengers with \u201chalf-interior\u201d airsides\/terminals<\/li>\n
• 2023 taxiway layout<\/li>\n
• Proper AI routing, vehicle pathing, airline codes<\/li>\n
• Custom taxisigns per real-life taxisign plots<\/li>\n
• Custom airport lighting (i.e. centerline lights, hold-short, Wig-Wags, etc.)<\/li>\n
• Blend of custom & photorealistic texturing for the best of both worlds<\/li>\n
• Animated HVAC fans, flags, and trams<\/li>\n
• Handcrafted mesh with taxiway bridges<\/li>\n
• High-resolution 0.5ft\/Color Graded Imagery<\/li>\n
• Surrounding area landmarks (Raymond James, International Plaza, Grand Hyatt, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  A much smaller airport was released for Japan, and it’s Kochi (RJOK) by MFSG. Despite being a rather small airport on the island of Shikoku, it still gets plenty of airline traffic. Funnily, it’s also known as Kochi Ryoma Airport owing the name to Ryoma Sakamoto, historical samurai and protagonist of Like a Dragon: Ishin!<\/em> (albeit his story has been fictionalized quite extensively for the game), who was born in Kochi, back then part of Tosa Province.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  The airport is priced at $13.89 plus applicable VAT on Simmarket. From the images, it looks a bit basic, but at least it has custom jetways.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  Last, but not least, we hear that the highly anticipated major update of\u00a0Denver International Airport (KDEN) in the US\u00a0by Flightbeam Studios\u00a0is “on final.” This is great to hear since Flightbeam is one of the best developers in the industry and Denver is one of its first releases for the sim. Since then, the studio has improved its technique massively, as you can see in the screenshot below.\u00a0<\/p>\n
