If you love trams and simulation games, but you happen to play on consoles, Dovetail Games and ViewApp announced that a new treat is coming your way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During a livestream dedicated mostly to Train Sim World 3<\/em> hosted by Dovetail, a console version of TramSim<\/em> by ViewApp has been announced. While the specific consoles have not been announced, Train Sim World is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, so this may go the same route. Yet, we should wait for official word on this before we draw conclusions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game has been available on PC via Steam since late 2020, and console players will get a Deluxe Edition including both TramSim Vienna<\/em> and TramSim Munich<\/em>, plus the Depot Vienna<\/em> and Type ULF <\/em>DLCs. This means that there’s plenty of content available out of the box.<\/p>\n

A release date has not been announced but it’s coming “soon.” We also got the promise that more details will be announced down the line as we get closer to the launch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game allows you to explore the two cities reproduced in great detail with dynamic road traffic, pedestrians, and other AI-controlled trams around you. In Vienna, you’ll be able to drive the Flexity, retro-style Type E2, and the ultra low floor Type ULF trams, while Munich will offer you the ability to drive the iconic\u00a0Type R2.2b. The DLC including the old Type E1 trams in Vienna doesn’t appear to be part of the package.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While this kind of simulator has been confined to PC for a long time (at least in the west, train sims like Densha de Go!<\/em> have always been popular on consoles in Japan), semi-recently developers have started to expand to consoles, so it’s great to see another widening its userbase outside of the usual Steam ecosystem.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
