Today Bandai Namco announced that the network test of its upcoming MMORPG Blue Protocol has been delayed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The test was supposed to begin in Japan on January 14, but the developer found issues defined as “challenging to avoid” that affect its purpose (which was to stress test the network and its features).\u00a0<\/p>\n

They’re already working on fixing said issues, but have decided to postpone the network test because it’ll take some time to develop a fix.<\/p>\n

The developers also apologized to those who were looking forward to playing, but they hope we’ll understand since they’re working to provide us with a comfortable gameplay environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the moment, they can’t provide a revised schedule for the test, but a new announcement will come on January 25 focusing on the progress on the fix and the preparations for the network test.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the moment, we don’t know how and if this will affect the plans of Amazon Games, which has been teasing an upcoming beta. The publisher plans to bring the game to the west in the second half of 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.<\/p>\n

if you’re unfamiliar with Blue Protocol, it’s a free-to-play anime-style MMORPG with a business model focusing on battle passes and paid cosmetics. It features an extremely deep character customization suite designed to let players basically create their ideal anime-style character, on top of fast action combat and interesting character progression and storytelling. The visuals are also beautiful, which never hurts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s developed by a team named Project Blue Sky, which is a joint initiative of Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios, and it wa announced all the way back in 2019.\u00a0Two beta tests have already been hosted for the Japanese audience, that has received the gameplay quite well. The western release was announced in December during The Game Awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
