A mousepad is of late a product you would feel is not required due to advancements in mice technology, but not everyone agrees and not everyone can afford a top-of-the-line mouse. A mouse mat is very useful when using a PC for work or what we use them for, gaming, mainly a smooth surface so the mouse laser can communicate better with your PC. Without a smooth surface, many mice will skip all around the screen which is not good for anything. I have had and still own plenty of these products from Razer to SteelSeries, down to Genesis among others. My favourite type of mouse mats are the ones with RGB lighting on the edges, they just match up with everything else I own in the RGB hemisphere.<\/p>\n

Now I have the Genesis Carbon 700 Maxi Cordura Mouse Pad<\/strong> and I do wonder, will it be and do everything I expect a mouse mat to do? as I always find that a mouse works much better with a mouse mat rather than on any surface, as they can offer you a smoother experience overall. \u00a0More importantly, if you are a gamer, a mouse mat can provide that added advantage on the battlefield allowing for that precise shot on target.<\/p>\n

There is also how the mouse communicates with the pc and its software, a better surface allows the mouse to feedback information to your device, providing its exact position at all times, offering pinpoint accuracy, this is something we all need.<\/p>\n

The packaging was what I expected, large but not too large, this was a big mouse mat after all 900mm x 420mm x 3mm, waterproof, with a rubber underside. As this is a big mouse mat, I would recommend making sure it will fit your desired desk. It was rolled up inside the box and when I opened the lid it was easy to just slide the pad out. I then rolled the pad out onto my gaming desk and set it up ready to go.\u00a0 I really liked it and instantly could tell that the underside of the pad had an Anti-Slip rubber base on it. The top of the pad was smooth to the touch and I liked the Edge stitching.<\/p>\n

When I saw this, I was looking for a cloth mouse mat that would allow my mouse to move precisely over and rest my keyboard on. This came to my attention while viewing other mouse mats and stood out thanks to it\u2019s size. Other features were the brand Genesis<\/b>, the surface being waterproof, soft, Thick, and an anti-slip rubber base. All these features were present on the front of the box including a full overview of the mouse mat. You can even feel the mouse mat through a hole on one of the sides.<\/p>\n

This mouse mat may seem simple, refined you could say, with just four standout points, the logo in the bottom left, black cloth all over, a non-slip base, and the Cordura Fabric logo in the top right, there is no RGB lighting, No massive logos and nothing that stands out.<\/p>\n

I guess being a more refined mouse mat it will have its audience, a gamer audience?, well yes I am a gamer and I prefer a blank sheet rather than a mouse mat adorned with artwork. It makes things easy to find, visible on the desk, cleaner and tidier in a sense a more practical mouse mat. The rubber is dense and offers a nice surface, like a cushion in a way, though the thickness is somewhat lesser than many mouse mats I have used in the past, which might put some of you off. The anti-slip underside does exactly that, it does not move once you place it on the desk and add your devices to it.<\/p>\n

The Mat will attract dust but do not fret, dust or crumbs from crisps can be swept away with ease, it is almost like there is a thin layer of something protecting the top cloth layer.<\/p>\n

Using the mouse mat, I rested my favourite keyboard upon it, the\u00a0Razer Huntsman Elite<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Razer Naga Trinity Chroma<\/strong>. The only device I cared about working perfectly was the\u00a0Razer Naga Trinity Chroma\u00a0<\/strong>and as expected, worked like a charm. This could just be the mouse, its software or as I said at the start, a good quality surface all make up a good playing environment. FPS Games, RPG Gamers, and general applications on Windows 10 all worked perfectly, flawless and what you are getting for the price is a bargain, especially for a lesser brand like Genesis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
