GIGABUSTER<\/em> enters a world where CEOs are doing nasty things around \u2018Happiness\u2019, and you need to sort them out with laser blasts and beam sabers.<\/p>\n

Liz is trying to stop a giant, crooked merger with the GEC, who have a monopoly on \u2018Happiness\u2019. This seems like it\u2019s going to make people\u2019s lives even more miserable, so you have to help Liz break into nine different companies and handle their CEOs. You get a bit of choice in how you fight these people, as the stages can be tackled however you like. Once you\u2019re in each level, you\u2019re encouraged to move quickly, making use of dashes, wall jumps, rail grinding, roof climbing, and all kinds of methods of locomotion to get to your target fast. Well, those and your ability to fire explosives blasts or swing around a laser sword. I\u2019m sure you can make yourself very persuasive with these tools, given the chance.<\/p>\n

With so many offensive tools (and you have some more melee weapons like bats and spears to give you some options), the game wants you to be as stylish as possible in your assault on these companies. There is a combo meter that rewards you for striking your enemies in quick succession, so using all of your mobility tools (and the right weapons) will have you looking sharp. And dangerous, as again, you\u2019ll need to \u2018negotiate\u2019 with the CEOs to ensure these mergers don\u2019t go through. They\u2019re not exactly lazy slobs sitting in their offices, though. They\u2019re getting ready for you, and you\u2019ll have to make use of all your abilities in the creative showdowns you have with them. Although you CAN win with your basic tools if you\u2019re persistent.<\/p>\n

GIGABUSTER<\/em> is an impressive take on the Mega Man Zero<\/em> formula, offering acrobatic, zippy melee combat and gunplay against some nasty businessmen. Which feels far better than beating up on malfunctioning worker robots like I\u2019m used to doing in the Mega Man<\/em> games, I must say.<\/p>\n
