Santa Monica Studio\u2018s Eric Williams has revealed to Game Informer that one of God of War Ragnarok characters<\/strong> could have been cut from the game but he fought for his inclusion. You\u2019ve probably already guessed who that character is because he does stand out, but in case you haven\u2019t figured it out, it\u2019s the talkative squirrel\u00a0Ratatoskr.<\/p>\n

Why\u00a0Ratatoskr is an important part of God of War characters lineup<\/h2>\n

Williams felt that\u00a0Ratatoskr\u2019s inclusion was necessary to balance God of War Ragnarok\u2019s dark tone and add some light-hearted touch to the game. The rest of the development team wasn\u2019t sure about that and felt that there were too many characters already.\u00a0\u201cThat scene where he shows up? That was the one everybody was like, \u2018Okay, are we going too far?\u2019\u201d Williams recalled. \u201cEven the music director was like, \u2018I don\u2019t even know what to do with the music here. This is so far away from God of War.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams then rang voice actor\u00a0SungWon Cho to help write Ratatoskr\u2019s character and bring him to life. Cho told Game Informer that before he came in,\u00a0Ratatoskr\u2019s character was \u201crude and sassy\u201d but he decided to make him more \u201cfun.\u201d<\/p>\n
