<\/figure>\n God of War Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em><\/span> just came out, and yet, there appears to be some hopefulness around the action-adventure game getting DLC. 2018’s God of War<\/em> didn\u2019t get any sort of expansion after launch, so why this follow-up would when it\u2019s supposed to conclude the rebooted series<\/span> is a little odd. But now, game director Eric Williams has not only laid that conversation to rest, saying folks shouldn\u2019t count on Ragnar\u00f6k <\/em>DLC, <\/em>but also confirmed he \u201cwould love\u201d to work on a Castlevania<\/em> project.<\/p>\n Read More:<\/strong> God Of War Ragnar\u00f6k:<\/em> The Kotaku <\/em>Review<\/span><\/p>\n In a long discussion on Kinda Funny Games\u2019 Spoilercast<\/em><\/span>, Williams was asked if Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em> might possibly get some add-on content now that the game has dropped. Williams shook his head a little, probably in disbelief, saying it\u2019s unlikely to happen.<\/p>\n \u201cUm, I don\u2019t know man, that game is big,\u201d Williams told Kinda Funny. \u201cLike, [Sony Santa Monica Studio] put everything we had into it, so I wouldn\u2019t count on it.\u201d<\/p>\n While he seemingly buried the notion of Ragnar\u00f6k <\/em>getting <\/em>DLC, Williams was quick to mention another license the team would have no problem taking a stab at: Konami\u2019s long-running but currently MIA Castlevania<\/em>.<\/p>\n G\/O Media may get a commission<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHey, you guys can make it happen,\u201d Williams said after the Kinda Funny crew joked about him playing the 1997 PlayStation classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night<\/em> now that he had Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em> finished. \u201cYou have the audience out here, the world, you know? I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m doing next, but if somebody gets me that Castlevania<\/em> license, [Santa Monica] would love to make that.\u201d<\/p>\n Kotaku<\/em> reached out to Sony for comment.<\/p>\n Castlevania<\/em> is Konami\u2019s gothic horror action-adventure series that, since 1997\u2019s influential Symphony of the Night<\/em><\/span>, serves as a key inspiration for what\u2019s now called the \u201cMetroidvania\u201d genre. Despite being a pivotal franchise for modern gaming, Konami hasn\u2019t released a new entry in the series since 2014’s spin-off, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n The years since have seen a couple of compilations that repackage old-school Castlevania<\/em> games, like 2019’s Castlevania Anniversary Collection <\/em>and 2021‘s Castlevania Advance Collection, <\/em>but if you were hoping for a new one, you\u2019re out of luck.<\/em> And furthering the nail in the coffin, the last bit of Castlevania<\/em> media to come out in recent memory was Netflix\u2019s eponymous dark fantasy animated series, which is apparently over now that season 4 has wrapped<\/span>.<\/p>\n
