Eidos Montreal<\/strong> was one of the three teams scooped up by Embracer Group<\/strong> earlier this year, and now only two of those teams remain after the closure of Studio Onoma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What this means for Eidos Montreal according to the same report that revealed Onoma\u2019s closure is a new influx of staff from Onoma.<\/p>\n

At the same time, it also appears that Eidos has cancelled a project it had in development, set in the Stranger Things<\/strong> universe.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg\u2019s Jason Schreier who broke the news on Monday also reports that Eidos has re-assessed or \u201creduced the scope\u201d of another project, and that it also has a new Deus Ex <\/strong>game in the very early stages of development.<\/p>\n

Eidos Montreal, which remains intact, canceled the Stranger Things-inspired “kids on bikes” game that was rumored recently. They’re now working on:
1) A new IP (recently rescoped)
2) A new Deus Ex (very very early)
3) co-dev partnerships with Xbox including Fable<\/p>\n

Eidos Montreal\u2019s revival of the Deus Ex franchise with Human Revolution<\/strong> back in 2011 gave the series a whole new lease on life with a brand new generation of fans, and that continued with Mankind Divided <\/strong>in 2016.<\/p>\n

For the studio to be back working on that franchise is a dream come true for many fans, though of course it\u2019ll be very interesting to see what new IP\u2019s Eidos Montreal is also working on.<\/p>\n
