Besides the upcoming Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> titles, Ubisoft was gearing up for the release of their pirate game Skull and Bones<\/em> this November. Tough luck to anyone looking forward to it though,\u00a0 because the game has just been delayed.<\/p>\n

According to IGN, Ubisoft has now pushed Skull and Bones<\/em>\u2019 launch from November 2022 to March 09, 2023. <\/strong>They explained in a release statement that game development is already in the final stafe though, and the extra months will be used to \u201cfurther polish and balance the experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is actually the fifth time that the game has been delayed since it was announced. Initially conceived as some kind of spinoff to Assassin\u2019s Creed: Black Flag<\/em>, Skull and Bones<\/em> was announced way back in E3 2017 with the aim to have it launch in 2018. The game was then continually pushed back with reports suggesting that the title has been quietly rebooted; but there are also rumors flying around of a toxic work culture in Ubisoft Singapore.<\/p>\n

With the game being worked on since 2017, a release in 2023 does feel like there has been a huge snag when it comes to development, but I guess it\u2019s always better to get a completed game late than to have an unfinished game come out on time. That\u2019s the cautionary tale that CD Projekt Redtold us when they launched Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> a few years back.<\/p>\n
