Overwatch 2<\/strong> might feature Fortnite-esque collaborations, according to comments from the game\u2019s VP. As Fortnite has made waves with its heavy implementation of brand collaborations, featuring Marvel, DC,\u00a0Dragon Ball Z, and more, it\u2019s understandable why the Overwatch team might want to emulate that success.<\/p>\n

Overwatch 2 could feature brand collaborations<\/h2>\n

Speaking to GameInformer, Overwatch\u2019s VP Jon Spector was very enthusiastic about the \u201cfun examples out there of games working with other brands or other games.\u201d He went on to explain how, as a \u201cbig anime nerd himself,\u201d he thought it was \u201csuper cool\u201d to \u201csee Naruto appear in Fortnite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bringing the focus back to Overwatch 2, Spector explained that \u201cas [the team looks] at the Overwatch 2 space, those are things that we\u2019re interested in exploring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spector was keen to emphasize that \u201cif and when [they do implement crossovers], one of [the team\u2019s] key values is to do it in a way that feels like a great fit for the Overwatch franchise.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Overwatch 2 is going down the free-to-play route, with players able to play and unlock heroes for free, Blizzard will no doubt be weighing up each method of monetization. Brand crossovers would no doubt help to sell more skins and other cosmetics!<\/p>\n
