  Mafia celebrates its 20th anniversary today, and in a new blog post by Hanger 13, the principal minds behind the series reflect on its creation and history while also teasing what\u2019s next.\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
Longtime Mafia designers Roman Hlad\u00edk (general manager), Tom\u00e1\u0161 H\u0159eb\u00ed\u010dek (head of production\/media director), and Alex Cox (game director) sat down to discuss Mafia\u2019s entire history and their most cherished memories of the franchise. It\u2019s worth a read if you consider yourself a diehard fan\u00a0(check it out here), but the most exciting news from the conversation is the\u00a0confirmation that the next game in the series is in development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy to confirm we\u2019ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it\u2019s a few years away and we can\u2019t share anything more right now, we\u2019re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cA few years away\u201d is a long time to wait, especially since the last mainline entry, Mafia III, is approaching\u00a0six years old, launching in October 2016. But we\u2019re happy to see the series continue and are curious to see where it heads next.\u00a0In 2020, Hanger 13 released enhanced remasters of all three games, the most substantial being a complete remake of the original dubbed Mafia: Definitive Edition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
