Grimes, musician and ex-partner of billionaire Elon Musk, has disapproved Meta\u2019s founder, Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s vision of the future of the metaverse. She said that \u201cif he oversees the metaverse, it is dead.\u201d This Tweet came after The Independent made a Tweet saying that he does, in fact, oversee the Metaverse.<\/p>\nGrimes, the Canadian musician, has called out Mark Zuckerberg for his metaverse plans.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Grimes\u2019 Comments<\/h2>\n
Claire Elise Boucher, or Grimes, as she\u2019s known professionally recently took to Twitter to disapprove of the concept of Meta\u2019s founder, Mark Zuckerberg overseeing the future of the metaverse.<\/p>\n
She spoke about it to her 1.3 million followers. \u201cIf Zuck \u201coversees the Metaverse\u201d it is dead and people who care about art and culture are building something else. Also, this is bad art. The quality of this image alone speaks to how wildly underqualified he is to build alternate reality, literally every indie game looks better.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cthey have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they are not ethically capable of running smthn (something) so powerful. And shud (should) not have the power they have now\u201d, assumably in reference to the scandals that Facebook\/Meta have been involved in throughout the years.<\/p>\n
This Tweet came in response to The Independent\u2019s announcement that Zuckerberg would feature on one of the top, yet most controversial podcasts, hosted by Joe Rogan, the UFC commentator and podcaster.<\/p>\n
About Grimes<\/h2>\n

Despite her comments on Zuckerberg, Grimes has actually proven to be a fan of crypto and NFTs in general. In March 2021, she sold her own NFT art and music in a collection titled \u2018WarNymph\u2019. Her platform of choice was on Nifty Gateway, and it was sold for a total of $6 million. At that time, she described herself as a \u201ccrypto queen\u201d.<\/p>\n
Does \u2018Zuck\u2019 oversee the Metaverse?<\/h2>\n
Frankly, the answer is no. Meta\u2019s version of the metaverse isn\u2019t fully out yet. Already, there are huge companies in the metaverse space with lots of daily users on their platforms. Like Decentraland and The Sandbox, who are the top names in the industry.<\/p>\n
Of course, with the huge multi-billion dollar brand that Meta, formerly Facebook, have, it is a possibility that upon full release they will have the top platform.<\/p>\n
