PlayStation was apparently out of the loop in a sense when Xbox revealed its plans to put Death Stranding (read our review) on PC Game Pass later this month. Thanks to Hideo Kojima\u2019s partnership with Xbox, it led to many fans worried about the future of his studio and PlayStation, though he assures them he still has a good relationship with both.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a Sony Interactive Entertainment spokesperson speaking with Push Square, Sony simply doesn\u2019t manage PC ops of the game. The PC operations are actually handled by Kojima Productions and its PC publisher, 505 Games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, a majority of the game\u2019s funding \u2014 and some of its resources like Guerrilla Games\u2019 own engine that it runs on \u2014 trickles back to Sony, so we can\u2019t help but wonder how it is the big player was willing to ink such a licensing deal that it wouldn\u2019t have some level of say in whether a game it helped out with so much goes on a competitor\u2019s streaming service.<\/span><\/p>\n

It might be worth noting this is the original version of Death Stranding as opposed to the Director\u2019s Cut, but even so, that only makes so much of a difference.<\/span><\/p>\n
