Severed Steel<\/strong> <\/strong>is in that category of games that chases a kind of bliss. It\u2019s the bliss that comes from an exquisite flow between moves; the bliss of tapping only a few buttons, but pulling off the most overblown, balletic manoeuvers that give the impression \u2013 to a watcher perhaps \u2013 that you\u2019re some kind of esports pro. We\u2019d put games like SUPERHOT<\/strong>, Mirror\u2019s Edge<\/strong>, Ghostrunner<\/strong> and perhaps even Max Payne in there. We\u2019re rubbish at them, but we can\u2019t help but look good while we\u2019re fumbling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Severed Steel is a first-person FPS that sticks to a reasonably conventional campaign format. We were surprised by the lack of multiplayer options until we started playing: there\u2019s no way that Severed Steel could have been compromised into the shape of a battle royale, say. The reasons soon became clear.\u00a0<\/p>\n
