After what feels like years of waiting, Square Enix has finally given Final Fantasy <\/em>fans a first look at the follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake<\/em>\u2014Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. <\/em>It features the return of Cloud as well as the appearance of the game\u2019s big villain, Sephiroth.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\nRebirth<\/em> is just at the top of the reveals though, as creative director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that there are currently four<\/em> Final Fantasy VII<\/em> projects in the works. After Remake <\/em>and Rebirth<\/em>, we are expected to get a third game in a now-announced trilogy. That should add some more backstory to Aerith\u2019s character as well as her \u2018ex-boyfriend-that-Cloud-reminds-her-of\u2019.<\/p>\nNot every Final Fantasy <\/em>game makes the cultural landmark that FFVII<\/em> did, and it makes a lot of sense for Square to really squeeze out this story.
