He has confirmed that Bethesda’s next flagship title is going to be Elder Scrolls 6 and the game is already in the pre-production stage. Moreover, he stated that post Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda will be working on their next big IP, Fallout 5, so their schedule looks pretty stacked up. Here’s Todd Howard’s statement:<\/p>\n
\nYes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we\u2019re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate\u2019s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well. <\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Earlier when Todd Howard was asked about his plans for Fallout, he stated that there is an idea in place for Fallout 5 and thats all. He was also asked that, with the load of Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6, is it possible that Fallout could be handed over to another studios to be developed, just like Fallout: New Vegas was. To which he replied the following statement:<\/p>\n
\nFallout’s really part of our DNA here. We’ve worked with other [developers] from time to time \u2013 I can’t say say what’s gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
There is no way of knowing the release window or plot for the next Fallout game. The players will have to wait for some information on Elder Scrolls 6 to release before they can even expect anything for Fallout 5.
