Halo Infinite is about to get its first \u2018Drop Pod\u2019 update in Season 2. Here\u2019s everything we know about the upcoming patch.<\/strong><\/p>\nIt\u2019s been 2 months since 343 Industries first revealed that it would be offering Drop Pod updates to Halo Infinite. These \u2018regular\u2019 updates aim to bring a plethora of fixes and tweaks to Infinite\u2019s gameplay, and we just got new details about the first-ever drop.<\/p>\n
Each Drop Pod aims to deliver Quality of Life updates, rather than containing additional content. Now over 6 months on from launch day, Halo Infinite still has desync issues, and the game suffers from poor UI design which appears to limit the addition of content.<\/p>\n
We know some of the biggest fixes coming to Halo Infinite in the future, but what does our first Drop Pod contain, and when will it release?<\/p>\n

Halo Infinite First Drop Pod Update Release Date<\/h2>\n Halo Infinite\u2019s first-ever Drop Pod update will release next week, most likely between June 13-16. We don\u2019t have an exact date confirmed just yet, but 343 assures fans that it\u2019s on its way.<\/strong><\/p>\nAs for what\u2019s coming in the long-awaited update, here are the biggest changes that players can expect:<\/p>\n
\nFaster UI loading for Battle Pass, Challenge, and Shop, particularly on lower-spec hardware.<\/li>\n An updated loading screen, now showing Season 2 \u2018Lone Wolves\u2019 Key Art<\/li>\n Durability increases for all light and medium vehicles.<\/li>\n Improved Scorpion tank controls.<\/li>\n Removal of repeating VFX and SFX bug.<\/li>\n Marking enemies through walls will be removed.<\/li>\n Xbox One improved stability helps players enter matchmaking games.<\/li>\n Massive Ranked changes (details below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nSpeaking of Drop Pods, don\u2019t miss the new leak for Halo Infinite Season 3 \u2018Helljumpers\u2019 here! <\/strong>343 is already commenting on the image that\u2019s doing the round online.<\/p>\n343 Industries<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Halo Infinite Ranked Matchmaking Changes<\/h3>\n After the Drop Pod launches, new Halo Infinite players will need to play 25 matches before heading into Ranked multiplayer. This should help combat Infinite\u2019s major cheating problem is a huge issue in a competitive playlist.<\/p>\n
The new update will also require parties to be within a certain range of each other\u2019s Competitive Skill Rank, leading to tighter skill gaps in matchmaking.<\/p>\n
There will be no restrictions below 899 CSR (Gold 6), but once the highest rank player hits Platinum 1, they won\u2019t be able to party up with just anyone. The higher your rank, the tighter the skill gap has to be in each Fireteam if that squad wants to enter Ranked matchmaking.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cFor example, if a player progresses from 900 CSR (Platinum 1) to 1200 CSR (Diamond 1), their Fireteam CSR limit would tighten from 900 to a stricter 750. At this new 1200 CSR, the lowest rank they could party up with would then be 1200 (their CSR) \u2013 750 (the Fireteam CSR limit) = 450, or Silver 4.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Unranked players can only party up with other unranked players, or anyone Gold 6 and below, 343 confirms. And while these skill gaps are still relatively broad, they\u2019ll be getting adjustments based on player feedback soon.<\/p>\n
