Modern Warfare 2<\/em>, which is like the old Modern Warfare 2<\/em> but not completely, will ship this October. To announce this, publisher Activision painted up ship in a bizarre video clip<\/a> shared on Twitter. I understand the connection: ship and ship date, get it? But still, you\u2019d half expect someone would just come out and say that there\u2019s a release date for Modern Warfare 2<\/em> without the pomp. Then again, this might be why I\u2019m not in marketing.<\/p>\n To steer the ship back to port, Modern Warfare 2<\/em> has a release date for October 28. The video itself, with wide-angle drone shots of characters from the game, doesn\u2019t dare offer up many story details. We know that Modern Warfare 2<\/em> is a soft remake of the 2009 original, featuring many of the same faces. Simon \u201cGhost\u201d Riley is clearly the face of the game, which makes sense. Outside of Captain Price, he was the most beloved characters in the original trilogy. Shame that all went to his head, though.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The video does tease a reveal date. On June 8, Activision will apparently put Modern Warfare 2<\/em> on full display. The date lands a couple days ahead of Summer Game Fest, so we\u2019ll likely see even more once Geoff Keighley hits the stage. Its reveal will no doubt give the characters in today\u2019s video more of a showing.
