It\u2019s another day, another NFT Twitter drama. This time around, the Milady NFT project founder has come under fire for their earlier hate speeches that surfaced online. Many Twitter users have alleged that the founder has previously posted several homophobic, anti-trans, and white nationalist tweets. What is the Milady NFT Project?<\/b><\/h2>\n
Milady Maker is a popular NFT collection featuring 10,000 generative PFP NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. An anonymous online collective called Remilia launched these anime-inspired, lo-fi avatars last year. Initially, the idea was to give holders access to a \u201c\u200b\u200bhighly customized Minecraft server\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
The Milady NFT project soon expanded its ecosystem to involve NFT banners, mixtapes, VRtube, a bootleg merch store and more. The collection became popular early this year, with some selling for as high as 15 ETH or about $45,000 at the time. Currently, its floor is at\u00a0<\/span>0.375 ETH on OpenSea.<\/span><\/p>\n
Apparently, Charlotte Fang (who also goes by \u201cCharlie\u201d or \u201cCharlemagne\u201d), is the CEO of Remilia. According to Fang, the collection takes inspiration from \u201c00\u2019s Tokyo street fashion\u201d. Each NFT in the collection comes in different rarities, starting from the highest rarity of \u201cSS\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Some users have criticised the use of \u201cSS\u2019 instead of \u201cS\u201d due to its Nazi connotations, reported <\/span>CoinDesk<\/span>. However, Fang refuted such claims.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
What is the Milady NFT Project Drama About?<\/b><\/h2>\n
Apart from the use of \u201cSS\u201d, the collection found itself in muddy waters after other allegations emerged. For instance, soon after its launch, many collectors found that a spin-off collection featured avatars wearing t-shirts with the word \u201cTreblinka\u201d, a major Nazi concentration camp. The project denied this too, claiming that they randomly generated the phrases using text from multiple sources.<\/span><\/p>\n
Alarmingly, things don\u2019t just end there. Some Twitter users have also alleged that Remilia is linked to a now-defunct, white supremacist collective called Kaliacc. Kaliacc is short for \u201cKali Yuga Accelerationism\u201d, which refers to the Vedic Yuga Cycle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides, some have also alleged that Fang is behind the online alias \u201cMaya\u201d, who is one of the leading figures of Kaliacc. Miya\u2019s early tweets and blog posts are extremely racist and homophobic. Miya has also been accused of \u201cgrooming\u201d young girls. Allegedly, Miya was also part of a suicide cult which was responsible for a 17-year old taking their own life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
How Has the Milady NFT Project Founder Responded?<\/b><\/h2>\n
Initially, Fang denied any connections to Miya. However, on Saturday, Fang made a \u201cfull disclosure\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cI was Miya. And its toxic baggage that\u2019s hurting Milady community & poisoning the vibe,\u201d Fang tweeted. \u201cI apologize about trying to hide the past account\u2014Miya has nothing to do with Milady Maker & should stay that way so I\u2019ll be stepping down from the team from here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/picture>Charlotte Fang\u2019s response.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Fang added, \u201cThought trying to distance myself would help but not gonna keep pussyfooting around it. Unequivocally, my real views hold no room for hate, and I detest abusers & groomers\u2014trolling about it was juvenile, but in reality I\u2019ve never harmed a fly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
They further said that they will be \u201ctaking a break\u201d for a while. Fang\u2019s tweet received mixed reactions, with some users calling them out for \u201clying\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
Admittedly, there are some serious allegations against the Milady NFT Project Founder. Could this be the end of Milady Makers? Well, only time will tell.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
