Does Warframe developer Digital Extremes have a mysterious new project in development? A new Soulframe trademark doesn\u2019t leave any clues but could point to an upcoming game from the veteran shooter development \u2013 possibly even along the same lines as its popular multiplayer game.<\/p>\n

As spotted on Reddit (via Gematsu), last week Warframe studio Digital Extremes applied for a trademark in Europe for \u201cSoulframe\u201d. You can check the trademark page\u00a0at the European Union Intellectual Property Office for yourself. There\u2019s not much to go on, but it does seem to confirm Soulframe \u2013 whatever it is \u2013 as \u201ccomputer game software\u201d.<\/p>\n

A quick check of Digital Extremes\u2019 other trademarks on the EUIPO site shows that the studio isn\u2019t one to trademark things lightly. Out of the nine trademarks it has, all of them are for the developer\u2019s previously released games \u2013\u00a0from the likes of\u00a0Warframe and Dark Sector to mobile games like Survived By and the cancelled The Amazing Eternals.<\/p>\n

Of course, the difference between Soulframe and all of Digital Extremes\u2019 other trademarks is the conspicuous use of \u201cframe\u201d in the title, suggesting that \u2013 if this is<\/em> a new game \u2013 it may either be a spin-off of Warframe, or the developer is attempting to brand its new games with similar titles, like Gearbox with Tiny Tina\u2019s Wonderlands (to Borderlands) or Frontier with Planet Zoo (to Planet Coaster).<\/p>\n

This is all speculation, however, and until Digital Extremes reveals any details on Soulframe this is all fans have to go on. We\u2019ve reached out to the studio for comment and will update this article with any response.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Digital Extremes just released the Angels of the Zariman expansion for one of the best ninja games on PC,\u00a0so\u00a0Warframe isn\u2019t being replaced any time soon.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
